Member of a joint venture to perform a sewerage masterplanning study for the City of Tetouan in Northern Morocco. Only a small section of the city was equipped with sewers and no treatment was provided to the combined sewage. This mixture of industrial and domestic wastes, and stormwater discharged directly into the receiving waters. Several overflows also existed along the route of the existing sewer system. No engineering drawings were available for the existing sewer system.

• Investigations to define the existing system
• Installation of flow and water quality monitoring equipment at select locations along the system
• Collection of all additional relevant data for the preparation of a predictive hydraulic and water quality model
• Calibration and verification of model using actual data collected in the field
• Optimization of the design of additional sewer
• Provision of high rate treatment at satellite locations at various overflows sites
• Conceptual design for the treatment and disposal of combined sewage and sludge, and for improvement of the water quality of the receiving waters
• Detailed alternative evaluation and recommendation of the most cost effective alternative for future consideration.
