The proposed widening of Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) requires the provision of an additional lane on each side of the roadway for a total of six 12-ft. lanes with curb and gutters, divided by a 16-ft. raised grass median, with 12-ft. turn lanes at various intersections, a 10-ft. multipurpose asphalt trail on each side, and a 120-ft. minimum right-of-way. The limits of the project are from the intersection of Route 7 with Rolling Hill Drive to the intersection of Route 7 with Tyco Toad, for a total distance of 8.2 miles. The project includes widening of the bridges within the project limits. Route 7 is a major transportation component of the Washington DC metropolitan area road network.

Brief Description of Services Provided
SHELADIA is responsible for complete design services for widening of a 1.15 mile section from Colvin Forest Drive to Middleton Ridge Road. This section includes a bridge over Difficult Run requiring complete design services for widening of a dual bridge.
