Rehabilitation of bridge and pavement for 4-lane 30-km highway road linking the state capital, Harrisburg, to an important commercial center, York, in the rolling hills of Central Pennsylvania. Pavement rehabilitation included construction of new rigid pavement as well as bituminous overlay of existing Portland cement concrete pavement. In the later case, existing joints were saw-cut and excavated to full depth on five-feet width, and in-filled with bituminous concrete prior to overlay in order to allay reflective cracking.
