Construction of new climbing lane for northbound traffic in the rolling hills of Central Pennsylvania for 4-lane 20-km highway road linking the state capital, Harrisburg, to an important commercial center, York. Project included rehabilitation of bridges and pavement, and improvements of parallel alternate routes. Pavement treatment involved pulverization of existing rigid pavement, removal of dowels and reinforcing steel with electro-magnets, compaction of pulverized material to form a new base, and construction of a new rigid pavement.
