Brief Description of Services Provided
Development and conduct of a Resettlement Management Training Program to enhance the institutional capabilities of agencies concerned in implementing land acquisition and resettlement programs necessitated by water resources projects. The Program focuses on the social, economic, and financial complexities of land acquisition and resettlement planning. Policy issues are identified and recommendations developed to build upon and strengthen the Government’s commitment to community development in developing infrastructure projects and to ensure equitable treatment of affected populations. Services provided in two phases (Development and Implementation) included:

*Design/conduct a Resettlement Management Training Program (liaison with government agencies and donors, physical facilities planning, trip arrangements, training materials, translation, etc. *Assist DGWRD in the selection of participants *Ensure consistency of program with ADB guidelines and policies *Prepare case materials *Prepare operational guidelines for DGWRD based on the Training Program and case studies *Prepare evaluation of the Training Program *Design and deliver resettlement management seminars for ADB staff.
