Comprehensive $2 million inventory and assessment of Haiti’s water resources and priority areas for small-scale irrigation and rural water supply development. The inventory of Haitian water resources pinpointed 130 areas for potential development, from which 23 target areas were selected for more detailed evaluations. Recommended project areas ranged in size from 100 to 900 hectares. The project involved extensive organizations and several branches of the government. The study was based on methodology developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer for assessing water resources.

In consultation with international agencies and organizations and Haitian government agencies, including le Service d’Irrigation, le Service de Météorologie, le Service de Vulgarisation Agricole, and l’Unité de Programmation, production of recommendations for complete project plans and practical procedures for achieving them.
