Provision of a team of specialists in agronomy, irrigation, drainage, hydrology, and construction to assist the Haitian Government for the implementation of a comprehensive program to upgrade the existing irrigation networks and construct new irrigation systems suitable for local needs.
The technical inputs included:
- Construction/repair of agricultural irrigation canals and divrsion dams
- Setting up stream gauging stations
- Agricultural adequation.
- Training was provided to engineers, technicians, and administrators to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Department of Irrigation and increase community/village participation and sensitivity.
