Sheladia provided technical assistance in watershed planning, soil and water conservation, engineering, agricultural extension, training, arid lands forestry, and institutional development to increase agricultural production in an arid environment. Developed national watershed planning models and designed and installed a computerized Geographic Information System to assist in the management of watersheds. Established community based resource management groups to reforest 17 watersheds and construct conservation structures designed to harvest runoff and recharge groundwater.
