Position: Pavement/Materials Engineer
Location: Worldwide
For those with an interest in working internationally in Africa and Asia, with extensive experience to support design and project management of upcoming and ongoing projects in transportation (roads and bridges), vertical structures (schools, clinics, government buildings), energy (conventional and renewable/alternative) and all other infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Must have Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field
- Must have Minimum of 15-years professional experience in road construction materials, geotechnical surveys, testing, pavement design, and mix specifications for bituminous and/or concrete pavement
- Must have Minimum of 10-years professional experience in the field of materials and soil mechanics in connection with road construction, particularly in developing and/or post-conflict countries
- Minimum of 3-years professional experience as in-charge of field laboratory, responsible for routine testing of all road construction materials, quality and performance tests
- Experience establishing quality assurance programs and monitoring testing of materials and finished work on highway projects
- Must have knowledge of modern pavement construction technology
- Must Speak/Read/Write English fluently
- Experience on projects funded by international development institutions such as the World Bank, ADB, USAID, AfDB, and familiar with their guidelines
Indicative Duties:
- Assist with review of Employer’s Requirements and Contractor’s investigation to determine material sources, subgrade properties and pavement design analysis
- Review of pavement design
- Establish procedures for inspection of soil/geological investigation works carried out by contractors
- Inspect pavement and structural construction and arrange for sampling and testing
